Roebuck Wanderers v Letchworth Yellows

Under-13s Meads Cup quarter-final

ROEBUCK'S George Bates settled this tie with a goal of the highest quality.

Wanderers had struggled to find the key to unlock Letchworth's stubborn defence until Bates produced his magical goal from his box of tricks, dribbling and tricking his way past four defenders before drawing the 'keeper and coolly slotting home.

Letchworth deserve much praise having played most of the game with 10 men and although Roebuck dominated territorially they were thwarted at every turn by Yellows' stubborn resistance until this solitary goal of the game in the 55th minute.
