THE Colts were eventually beaten 4-2 despite a spirited display against Shephall United.

A slow start to the game by Colts allowed Shephall to open the scoring with a goal in the first minute following a goalmouth scramble.

However, the early set-back seemed to spur the Colts into life and they began to show signs of a fight back and could have levelled after good work from Mackenzie Harris and Scott Batchelor.

The Colts did equalise after 15 minutes through Cameron Smith who sent an unstoppable shot past the visiting Keeper.

Colts continued to press the game and it was obvious Shephall were not handling the pressure as they started to argue between themselves.

Colts took the lead through Jimi Smith who sent a high dipping shot from outside the area, catching the visiting Keeper off his line, which crept under the crossbar.

With half time looming, Shephall scored when a throw-in wasn't cleared and the ball was prodded home from close range.

The second half started very evenly as both teams looked to take the lead, however it was Shephall who went ahead after another close-range effort eluded Colts Man of the Match 'keeper Sam Chapman.

With Colts pushing for an equaliser gaps began to appear in defence and Shephall made the game safe with their fourth of the game.
