TWELVE goals from the last three games is the impressive tally for goal machine George Storey after a hard earned victory for Melbourn at Pin Green on Sunday.

In fact the Stevenage side were by far the better team in the first half, deservedly going in at half time 3-1 up.

Panthers were 2-0 down after 13 minutes but reduced the deficit on 15 minutes as Storey weaved his way through the Pin Green defence to make it 2-1.

Not to be outdone Pin Green increased their lead again as they continued to look the sharper of the two sides. Just before half time Storey had a great chance to get a second when clean through but the keeper made a fine save to keep his side's two goal advantage at half time.

Despite being second best for the first 30 minutes Panthers came out with all guns blazing at the start of the second half forcing a succession of corners.

On 34 minutes it was 3-2 as Ryan Lees out jumped everyone to head home from a Storey corner. Two minutes later Storey chipped an accurate ball over the Pin Green defence to put Player of the Match Josh Hutton clean through. Hutton took his time before placing a perfect lob over the advancing keeper to make it 3-3. A further two minutes later Melbourn were in front for the first time as the hard working Sam Potterill created an opening for Storey to bag his second with a typical finish.

The goals dried up for all of nine minutes when Melbourn extended their lead in spectacular fashion.

Hutton put a dangerous high ball into the penalty area, Storey found himself with his back to goal but somehow executed an overhead lob over the 'keeper and into the net to complete his hat trick for the third week running and an impressive 20th goal in seven games this season.

Not to be out done Pin Green continued to play with spirit and scored their forth goal on 55 minutes with a strong run through the middle, however it was Potterill who scored the final goal of the game on 60 minutes with a neat finish to make it 6-4 to Panthers in a hard fought game.
