Bassingbourn Youth 2 Stevenage Vikings 3

Bassingbourn played host to Stevenage Vikings in a closely fought friendly game.

Once again a defensive lapse saw Bourn go behind early in the game. Matthew Gywnn had an early effort ruled out for offside.

A strong run down the left wing saw Matthew Tiffin rifle in a right-footed shot into the corner of the net to level the scores. The second half saw James Sharp move up to midfield where he had a number of good runs down the right wing.

Edward Sclare went close with a shot from inside the box. Bourn took a deserved lead from Jack Brough but Stevenage fought back to equalise.

Goalkeeper John Dix was beaten by a fine shot from the Stevenage centre forward to send Bourn to an unlucky defeat.
