Melbourn Dynamos Panthers 1 Bassingbourn Reds 6

Under-10s

UP against Bassingbourn Reds Melbourn Dynamos Panthers tried out a new formation and took a bit of a hammering in the first half, trailing 4-0 at half time despite some dogged defending from Sean Lodge.

The second half was more evenly matched with man-of-the-match Alex Goodfellow outstanding in defence and Martin Downey relentlessly harrying the opposition and Bruce Barnes took his opportunity to score a superb consolation goal leaving the final score 6-1 to Bassingbourn.

Melbourn Dynamos Tigers 1 Bassingbourn Whites 2

Under-10s

Melbourn Dynamos Tigers had a closely matched game against Bassingbourn Whites with man-of-the-match Imogen Ranner fearless in defence and threatening every Bassingbourn attack.

Midfielder Sam Fallon was also outstanding as he worked the length of the pitch and he opened the scoring with a well deserved goal.

Despite Bassingbourn taking the match 2-1, it could have been more but for the steadfast Cameron Ireland in goal.

Stotfold 5 Melbourn Dynamos 2

Under-sevens

Away to Stotfold for a double friendly fixture this week, Melbourn Dynamos under-sevens put in another spirited performance

In the first match, with Melbourn needing a few minutes to find their feet, Stotfold surged ahead to a 3-0 lead at half time.

The second half was a different story with Melbourn fighting back with strong performances from Toby Morrison in defence and Arthur Gomm in midfield, and the visitors matched their opponents goal for goal with both teams scoring twice as Stotfold won the match 5-2.

The second match saw Melbourn step up the pace by quickly going ahead 1-0.

Stotfold equalised, then went ahead 2-1 but Melbourn's attack kept up the pressure, and an excellent Cameron King cross was converted superbly by man-of-the-match Louis Chadwick to bring the final score to 2-2.
