Bassingbourn Whites 6

Stevenage Town Tornados 2

BASSINGBOURN produced a stunning first half display to see off Stevenage and maintain their push for the runners up spot.

With French, Sutton, Baigent and Jones attacking at will, Whites played some great football and they raced into a 5-1 lead at half time courtesy of goals from Baigent (2), French (2) and leading scorer Jones (1).

Stevenage responded well in the second period but had too much of a mountain to climb and Wright, Lay, Collet-Sinfield and Catton kept things tight at the back.

Late on in the game, Baigent was released by good play from Wright and French to complete his hat-trick and leave the final score at 6-2 to Bassingbourn.
