Cllr Giles should resign

Another costly blunder!

Cllr Giles constantly claims he is running our town. Every week another disaster comes to light and he tries to blame others for his own incompetence. The failure to fix the price of land for a new St Neots cemetery a year ago has wasted thousands of pounds of rate payers money on consultants and that recklessness now means we may have nowhere to lay people to rest.

Currently, a small piece of town centre land, acquired 80 years ago when it was edge of town, is being proposed for burials by Cllr Giles. A 10 acre cemetery could have lasted us 30 years but just over an acre of land, worth five times as much, will last only a few years and give us another cemetery in our town centre!

As if this incompetence was not enough, the November Council meeting learned our most valuable asset might not actually belong to the Town Council. Having blundered again and finding himself in a situation where a humble apology and rapid resignation was the appropriate course of action, Cllr Giles immediately came up with a cunning distraction plan – Lie!

Because I blew the whistle on him, Cllr Giles then abused his position as Council Leader by falsely claiming I had been made aware of the ownership blunder. Then, he sought to blame the Conservative minority for not digging him out by coming up, at the drop of a hat, with an alternative site. And of course, he thinks it was the Conservatives fault anyway because we spoke up for the people of St Neots!

Resign Cllr Giles before more of your blunders come to light!
