A ROTARIAN from Comet country is among four people killed in a light aircraft crash in Italy on Sunday June 1, 2008.John Ritchie, 81, of Broadway in Letchworth GC, died when the plane he was in came down near the town of Rovereto, in the Veneto area in the north of the the country.The accident also claimed the lives of a 54-year-old man from Cambridgeshire and an Italian couple, aged 69 and 56.Mr Ritchie, who had been a pilot for many years but had not been flying the aircraft, was a member of the Rotary Club of Letchworth Garden City and the Flying Rotarians.The other three people killed are also believed to have been Rotarians, all taking part in a conference in Venice over the weekend, which involved a flight on Sunday to visit an aeronautical museum in Trento.
