I am not a Tory by any means quite the opposite, but have no intention of using the problems of Tory ex-councilor Peter O’Brian as a political football or as any chance to score petty party political points.
I just hope that for his sake the police and public prosecutors have been scrupulous in their research and deliberations into his case and that information publicized as to his ‘guilt’ is treated likewise before its published.
As frankly neither police, judiciary or media can hope to claim to be squeaky clean in their dealings in matters of this nature.
All it needs is innuendo and gossip a nudge here and a wink there and hey presto another career and life ruined with absolutely no recourse to a fair hearing.
